Dezirae Johnson breaks 400m record

Dezirae Johnson ran the fastest 400 meter run ever for a Redwood Empire athlete placing 2nd at the Mountain West conference indoor Championships yesterday (2/27/16) in 54.01.
That time eclipsed the 23 year old record held by former Santa Rosa high runner Wendi Simmons from 1993.
Kyra Johnson was just one place back in 3rd finishing in 54.32.
The sisters joined Fresno State teammates to win the 4x400m relay in 3:38.05 at the meet. The mark broke an 18-year-old school record.
