Maria Carrillo sophomore Talia Leano picked a good meet to win her first race of the year.
Leano topped every girl in the NBL over the Ukiah campuses 3.1 mile course at the NBL center meet.
Leano who might seem more like a speed runner with a 2:18.47 800 PR showed she may be the most dangerous on tough hilly courses.

“After getting 12 hours of sleep last night I knew I had that going for me today.”
“This race will definitely help my confidence from now on when I’m on the starting lines.”
On the team side Carrillo took the top three spots and won easily with a score of 31 points to Santa Rosa’s 48 with all eight teams competing.
“This meet was a great dress rehearsal for us for NCS.” said Carrillo coach Greg Fogg.
