Not an April Fools: Kate Bowen runs 3200m in 11:18.85

Sonoma Academy freshman Kate Bowen steps on the track for the first time to run a high school 3200m race and clocks 11:18.85.
The last two days Kate got to watch her sister Rylee beat some of the best in the nation at the Texas Relays Day 1, Day 2 but today was her day to shine in Texas.
She placed 15th in an elite field of distance runners, winning time was 10:37.22.
Kate’s time moved her to 42nd All-Time in the Redwood Empire in her very first race. And who is 41st on the list. That would be mom with her 11:18.42 Nika Horn, Santa Rosa #5 1992.
Kate also bumped star runner Leanne Fogg off the All-Time freshman top 10.
